Checklist before sending soybean seeds

Please review this check list before you sent soybean seeds and make sure that:

Phytosanitary certificate is included, stating that the soybean has been fumigated and trated with fungicides as indicated (see here).

Use a courier to send the seed if possible. Fed ex does a good job for Chile, however other companies have not worked well for us.

An invoice listing the quantity of material shipped and value per kilogram (value of soybean US$0.25 per kilo) must be included. It should state "no charge to consignee” and add a statement that the “Invoice value is for customs purposes only. This seed is not for resale. It is for research and development and re-export only”.

Include original airwaybill, invoice, and phytosanitary certificate. Get two originals of the phytosanitary certificate if possible, save one just in case there is a problem. List transgenic materials separately in the invoice and package them separately also. Make sure net weight listed in the invoice coincide with that in the box.

Planting plans and or instructions are inside the box or have been e-mailed to MAS.

Make sure MAS has been sent a fax/email with a copy of the documents listed in number 4 above..

Make sure harvest/row tags have been included if needed or send them later.
